I am afraid that the work of the many out there in weblandia who with love, determination and lots of good will continue to netrelease, slowly evolves towards the opposite of what they would like to achieve.
Free music/sounds/sound art on the internet provokes a consumerist attitude not only with the listener, but also to gallerists, promoters, politicians. If one dumps his art on the internet for free, why should one buy a CD, Vinyl or cassette, offer a fee, or consider funding?
Yeah yeah, we were free but now, “internet users are consumerists who get stuff for free, and they don’t buy
(” … You’re the 25643th artist/music website I visit in 2 days… just like I would buy *your shit* and not others. Instead, you removed your stuff, and you don’t plan to distribute it, so I’ll never know how you sound. Music is not made to be sold, but you probably won’t accept it as long as capitalism sits in your mind. Good luck little money lurker !
little money lurker?
capitalism in my mind?
get your 5 or 6 euro tapes at http://staaltape.wordpress.com
or find a nice selection of releases you can buy
at http://rinusvanalebeek.wordpress.com/releases/
And once 25643 visitors have done the same I can be a real capitalist for at least a week.
