Ha ya, but to juxtapose was not my intention. Here is the story, well part of it, because I canonly vaguely remember how I got the tape; maybe Tim Ruth gave it to me while I was recording and walking around in what was to become his tea house ( in late summer 2001 in Louisville,Ky).
Anyway it is the first tape in my collection on which I saw the process of decaying in full run. When I picked it up I noticed tiny splitters falling on my finger: the magnetic tape!
So, I wanted to make pictures of the result. Luckily I could take advantage of a sunny day and a very bright light. I connected the basf cassette to the washing line and the wind did the rest. The three pictures with loads of clouds in it are by my girlfriend.
Now I am curious what it sounds like, but on the other hand I fear that all the tiny bits that will fall of could ruin the mechanism.
Love these Rinus, juxtaposition between strung mylar and the houses and the neighborhood.
